Total Assam Bandh : Indefinite CHAKKA BANDH In Assam From Monday
The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has called for an indefinite ‘Chakka Bandh’ from Monday to press their various demands.
The All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA) has called for an indefinite ‘Chakka Bandh’ from Monday to press their various demands. The association has demanded to increase the bus fares in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The association has highlighted the fact that the government has increased prices of various essential commodities and the price of petrol and diesel. But there has been no subsequent rise in fares which has been hurting their incomes and making it increasingly difficult to meet ends meet.
Buses, trackers, e-rickshaws will observe the Chakka Bandh across the state.
“The fuel price has increased. The government has ordered to carry 50 per cent passengers. We should be allowed to carry 100 per cent passengers or the fares must be hiked,” said a member of the association at Gohpur.
“From Monday no buses, trackers, e-rickshaws will ply. There will be complete strike across the state for an indefinite period,” said another member.
