Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 Latest Updates

Royal Enfield has silently launched the BS6 Himalayan in India. It is priced from Rs 1.86 lakh to Rs 1.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Updates to the motorcycle include a new cat-con, switchable ABS, and hazard toggle switch. For more details on the Himalayan BS6, check out this story.

The Himalayan is Royal Enfield’s first proper adventure tourer built for one purpose- to explore the roads untravelled. The Himalayan is powered by an all new 411cc counterbalanced, oil-cooled unit which is not only refined but also versatile enough for both highway cruising and off-road riding. Now, we still haven’t heard from the company if the power and torque figures are the same as the BS4 model or not.

The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission, which spreads out torque generously at lower revs. This is particularly ideal for conquering rough terrains. The minimalistic design, coupled with off-road-spec wheels and long-travel suspension, make this bike apt for touring. For braking, it gets disc on both ends with a dual-channel ABS as standard.

In terms of competition, the Himalayan goes up against the upcoming KTM 390 ADV, the Kawasaki Versys X-300, and the BMW G 310 GS.

Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 Price
