IED Blast in Imphal : Minor Girl Injured
The police suspects that militants of a banned underground group were behind the explosion.
A powerful explosion rocked Manipur's Capital City, Imphal on Thursday leaving a minor girl injured by broken glass pieces splattred due to explosion. The injured girl was rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to the police, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blew off in front of a clothes shop at the Lalambung Makong area on RIMS road at around 4.55 am on Thursday.
The police suspects that militants of a banned underground group were behind the explosion. According to sources the bomb was planted in connection with upcoming REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION. Following the explosion, top police officials and other security personnel rushed to the area and began an investigation.
Security was beefed up in the area and an operation has been launched to nab the militants.
