Singer Kanika Kapoor, known for hit numbers like ‘Babydoll’ and ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’, is in the eye of the storm, yet again. The 41-year-old singer, who returned home this week after being discharged from hospital, is likely to be interrogated by Lucknow police, once the 14-day period of self-quarantine ends.

Kapoor had been booked by UP Police for negligence on March 20 for allegedly committing acts that were likely to spread the disease after she attended at least three gatherings in Lucknow, including a party where political leaders were present.

According to a TOI report, the interrogation of the singer by Lucknow police will take place after 14 days.

Kapoor had reportedly gone to Mumbai after returning from London on March 9, after which, she attended a bash in Lucknow.

An FIR was registered against the singer by Lucknow's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Kumar Agarwal, at the city’s Sarojini Nagar Police Station. Kapoor had tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time on March 20 and subsequently tested positive four more times.
