Manipur- The N.Biren Singh-led Manipur Government on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines after the state witnessed a surge in the cases of the novel coronavirus. The government had previously already issued COVID-19 appropriate guidelines on the 18th of April imposing night curfew, restrictions of gatherings, and rostered the opening of shops in Paona and Thangal Bazaar.

1. Three IMA Keithels, also known as the mother's market to be closed along with an adjoining temporary market for ten days.

2. One in each shop in the galis of the Thangal and Paona bazaar to be opened on a rotational basis.

4. One in every three shops of the Ngari Gali to be opened on a rotational basis.

5. All public transport vehicles like buses, winger vans, auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw, etc. to only carry half their capacity and the passengers must wear face masks at all times.

6. For the other districts, the DC and SP should immediately evaluate and issue suitable restriction orders.

It is important to note that the Ima Keithels or the mother's market, which was closed for an entire year due to the coronavirus pandemic was opened on February 15 this year, bringing much relief to the women vendors.
