Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, Aishwarya Test Positive For COVID-19, Admitted To Nanavati Hospital In Mumbai

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya have been tested COVID-19 positive. However, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Agastya Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda have tested negative.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya have been tested COVID-19 positive. However, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Agastya Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda have tested negative.

Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek announced on Twitter yesterday that they have been infected with the coronavirus. 

The father-son duo were admitted in the Nanavati Hospital's isolation ward and are in stable condition.

The 77-year-old legendary actor said in a tweet on Saturday night that he had tested positive for the highly infectious virus.

Within minutes, his actor son Abhishek Bachchan, 44, tweeted that he had also tested positive.

Showing only mild symptoms, Big B and Bachchan junior appealed to their millions of fans to stay calm.

Millions of Indians in India and abroad wished Amitabh Bachchan and his son a speedy recovery while many fans prayed for him in temples. 

Amitabh's bungalow declared containment zone

Meanwhile, civic authorities launched a massive sanitising drive at Bachchan's residence in Mumbai, spraying disinfectant in the large compound and on cars parked there, reported REUTERS.

Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar in a statement said that the BMC has carried sanitisation of Amitabh’s residence in the morning after which it was declared as containment zone starting today.

No one will be allowed to enter or exit from the house and Mumbai Police has also done barricading there, she said adding that only supply for essential items will be allowed and that all the residents have been quarantined for 14 days.

The Bollywood legend has been roped in by the Centre to in the fight against the coronavirus and has been appearing in public service advertisements where he urges people to wear a mask, wash hands frequently and maintain social distance.
